Here’s a little more on the brands that we carry.

 

PHILIPS

Philips, a Dutch multinational conglomerate, is one of the largest electronics companies in the world. Apart from the numerous electronics that they manufacture, they are also a leader in…. you guessed it – the lighting industry!

Philips has existed for over 125 years, since it was founded in Eindhoven in 1891 by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik with their first products being none other than light bulbs!

Most recently in 2018, Koinklijke (an honorary title presented to select companies) Philips N.V. spun off its lighting division to Signify N.V.

They continue to produce and promote energy-saving lighting products and systems for the benefit of all, integrating the latest innovations into lightings.

 

LEDVANCE

LEDvance is a divestment unit of Osram’s lamp division in 2016. It operated as a legally independent company before being sold to a Chinese consortium, which ultimately ended with MLS Co. Ltd as sole owner in 2018.

Despite its divestment from Osram, LEDvance maintains the high-quality standards of Osram and continues to produce innovative products, as it has since it was established in 1901.

 

OSRAM

Osram was founded in 1919 in Munich, Germany through the merger of the lighting businesses of Auergesellschaft, Siemens & Halske as well as Allgemeine Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft.

Interestingly, the brand name Osram was derived from Osmium, a chemical element used in early lamps and Wolfram, the German translation for tungsten – which replaced osmium a few years after it was commercially introduced in 1902.

Today, Osram is has grown to become a pioneer in the lighting industry by offering innovative and sustainable lighting solutions.

 

ELT

ELT is a Spanish group that specializes in the design, manufacture and marketing of lighting solutions, for which Kum Eng Huat is the official distributor.

Just like us, they started out as a family company with only 7 people in 1975. More than 40 years on, they have grown across multiple geographic regions and now place a high value on innovation with them having their own Centre for Innovation and Development.

ELT has had much success across multiple commercial lighting projects across Europe, thanks to their incorporation of technology into configuration and control tools as well as their own development of the eSMART and incorporation of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

ELT provides great solutions for commercial indoor and outdoor lighting.

 

SANKYO DENKI

Sankyo Denki a Japanese brand which specializes in producing high-quality UV-A, UV-B and UV-C lamps. Sterilization by ultraviolet (UV) light is proven to be effective against a wide range of microorganisms and bacteria. Furthermore, this method of sterilization is far less damaging to goods that are being sterilized.

Since its establishment in 1947, Sankyo Denki has been manufacturing UV lamps with a range of applications. Sankyo Denki also has a commitment to continue to provide a high quality and wide variety of products and services to contribute to the advancement of society.
